Bishkek, Sept.11, 2026 /Kabar/. The National Flag was raised in the Talas region ahead of the celebration of the 35th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independence.
A solemn ceremony took place today, September 11, in the central square of the city of Talas, attended by President Sadyr Zhaparov.
In his speech, President Zhaparov emphasized that the National Flag is the pride of the people, a symbol of their unity, the history of the country, and a sacred legacy passed down from ancestors to future generations.
The president noted that passing the flag on to the next generation "without diminishing its brilliance or significance" depends on the efforts of the current generation; he called for preserving unity, strengthening the state, and providing young people with a worthy upbringing and education.
Kyrgyzstan's Independence Day is traditionally celebrated on August 31. This year, however, the main celebrations were postponed due to the SCO Summit held in Bishkek.
In recent years, it has become a tradition to hold Independence Day celebrations in different regions of the country. This year's festivities are taking place in Talas, while last year's celebrations were held in Jalal-Abad Oblast.
