Bishkek, Oct. 16, 2026 /Kabar/. On October 16, President Sadyr Zhaparov is participating in the Leaders' Summit held as part of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) in Yerevan, Armenia.
At the "Meridian" Exhibition Center, where the event is taking place, the head of state was welcomed by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
The summit is also attended by various heads of state, scientists, leaders of international environmental organizations, experts, and representatives of non-governmental organizations.
The event will focus on reviewing the implementation of commitments made under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, as well as discussing measures to secure funding for the protection of ecosystems.
Following the summit, a political declaration titled the "Yerevan Call to Action" is expected to be adopted.
