Bishkek, Aug. 25, 2025 /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov met with eco-activist Andrei Panaev, who became famous for his voluntary garbage collection on the coast of Issyk-Kul.
The head of state noted that he learned about Andrei Panaev's activities from the Internet, and considered it important to express his gratitude to him.
"Your work is an example for many people. Ecology and nature have no boundaries. The whole world breathes the same air. Therefore, every person on Earth should act as you do. We are obliged to protect the ecology and nature and pass it on in its pure form to future generations. This is everyone's duty. You are great! ", the president emphasized.
The eco-activist said that he came to Kyrgyzstan as a tourist, and in 2024, while vacationing in Issyk-Kul, he began to clean up trash on the shore, wanting to encourage people to clean up by his example. Andrei Panaev noted that he decided to stay in Kyrgyzstan forever, calling the country his home.
He also emphasized that he saw videos where President Sadyr Zhaparov himself collected trash and called for cleanliness, thereby setting an example for society.
"On behalf of the people of Kyrgyzstan, on behalf of volunteers and eco-activists, I present you with a car as a gift," said Sadyr Zhaparov, handing Andrei Panaev the keys to a domestically produced car.
