President Zhaparov receives secretaries of Security Councils of CSTO

Bishkek, June 19, 2025. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov today, June 19, met with Secretaries of the Security Councils of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Secretaries of the Security Councils of the Central Asia-Russia format in Cholpon-Ata.

The head of state emphasized that the modern international agenda is characterized by complex and ambiguous trends. In this context, it is important to continue monitoring the situation in Afghanistan.

Speaking about the coordination of efforts, Sadyr Zhaparov noted that terrorism is a threat that requires collective action and non-standard approaches in the fight against it. As well as the spread of extremist ideologies, drug trafficking and the activities of transnational organized crime.

"It is important to carefully and soberly assess the current situation and take joint preventive measures aimed at strengthening stability in the region. It is obvious that an effective, comprehensive and systemic solution to security issues will have a positive impact on the growth of the quality of life of the population of our countries,” the President said.

The Secretaries of the Security Councils, in turn, emphasized the importance of jointly countering modern threats, including terrorism, extremism and cybercrime.

In conclusion, President Sadyr Zhaparov thanked the Secretaries of the Security Councils for their constructive joint work for the benefit of ensuring collective security.
