Bishkek, July 29, 2026. /Kabar/. President Sadyr Zhaparov signed the amended Law of Kyrgyz Republic "On Physical Culture and Sports.'"
The law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on June 25, 2026.
The purpose of the law is to promote the development of the Deaflympic movement, expand citizen involvement in physical culture and sports, and provide additional social support for athletes by including their national team activities in their work experience, while also ensuring the safety of spectators at sporting events.
In particular, the law provides for the following:
- the key concepts used in the Law "On Physical Culture and Sports" are optimized and updated, including the establishment of the "Deaflympic Games" and "eSports" institutions;
- the authorized state body in the field of physical culture and sports accredits national sports federations;
- rules ensuring the safety of spectators at mass sporting events are determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyz Republic;
- sporting event organizers are responsible for ensuring the safety of spectators in accordance with the legislation of Kyrgyz Republic;
- an athlete's time on the national team of Kyrgyz Republic is counted toward their work experience in the field of physical culture and sports.
This law shall enter into force ten days after its official publication.
