Bishkek, June 9, 2026 /Kabar/. President Sadyr Zhaparov signed the Law of Kyrgyz Republic "On Labor Protection."

The law was adopted by Jogorku Kenesh on April 22, 2026.

The Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Labor Protection" was adopted in new version. It establishes the legal basis for the implementation of citizens' constitutional rights to life and health protection during work and ensures a unified procedure for relations between employees and employers on labor protection issues. It is aimed at creating safe working conditions in the workplace that meet the requirements for preserving the life and health of employees during work.

The law includes occupational safety and health regulations that were previously included in the 2004 Labor Code, and were excluded from the new version of the Kyrgyz Republic Labor Code (enacted by Law No. 24 of the Kyrgyz Republic dated January 23, 2025). The law has also been brought into line with the new version of the Kyrgyz Republic Labor Code.

Overall, this law establishes a legal basis for effective oversight of compliance with occupational safety regulations and standards and creates conditions for increasing employer accountability for working conditions.
