Bishkek, May 26, 2026. /Kabar/. Today, May 26, at the initiative of the Iranian side, a telephone conversation took place between Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
The heads of state exchanged mutual congratulations on the eve of the holy holiday of Kurman Ait, wishing the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Iran peace, well-being, and prosperity.
During the conversation, they exchanged views on further strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to interaction within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The head of state noted that Kyrgyzstan, as the current SCO chair, attaches particular importance to strengthening the Organization's role in ensuring peace, trust, and constructive cooperation.
The parties noted the particular significance of the upcoming SCO summit in the Kyrgyz Republic and emphasized the importance of holding it at a high organizational and substantive level.
Regarding the regional agenda, President Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized the importance of continuing dialogue and resolving all emerging issues exclusively through political and diplomatic means. Kyrgyz side expressed hope for a speedy resolution of the current situation and the restoration of stability in Middle East.
At the end of the conversation, the heads of state reaffirmed their mutual interest in further developing Kyrgyz-Iranian relations in the spirit of friendship and mutual support.
