Bishkek, Dec. 10, 2025. /Kabar/. The new head coach of the Kyrgyzstan national team, Robert Prosinečki, noted that despite the differences between Asian and European mentalities, he is confident in the possibility of achieving success by combining the best qualities of both sides.
"Of course, there are differences between Asia and Europe, but since we work in football, I am confident that by combining both mentalities, we can achieve success. After signing the contract, I need to return to my homeland. Starting January 1, I will be back in Kyrgyzstan and will travel to Saudi Arabia with the U23 national team, watch the matches, and then get back to work. I previously worked with the Azerbaijan national team for three years, practically never leaving the country. Therefore, this will not be a difficulty for me. I will remain in Kyrgyzstan for as long as I am needed, working, watching games, analyzing, and fulfilling my duties," said Prosinečki.
He also emphasized that, as a former attacking player, he prefers offensive football. "However, everything will depend on the opponent, the tournament, and any situations that may arise. The main thing is that our players have the desire to play and represent the national team. Everything else will depend on the circumstances and how well the players implement my instructions," the head coach noted.
It should be noted that, according to the contract terms, the agreement is for one year and one month. If the Kyrgyzstan national team performs successfully at the 2027 Asian Cup, the contract will be extended for another three years.
KFU President Kamchybek Tashiev stated that Robert Prosinecki's arrival will give the national team new impetus. He noted that the team faces significant challenges, and under the new coach, qualitative changes are expected.
