Bishkek, Feb. 16, 2026. /Kabar/. Remittance inflows to Kyrgyzstan are projected to reach $3.5 billion in 2025, according to experts from the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB). The data were published in the bank’s weekly macroeconomic review.

Analysts report that a record volume of remittances was recorded in 2025, marking a 16.8% increase compared to 2024, primarily driven by transfers from Russia.

According to the EDB, the $3.5 billion inflow accounts for 15.4% of Kyrgyzstan’s GDP.

“The increase in dollar inflows was supported by a 24% appreciation of the Russian ruble against the U.S. dollar by the end of 2025. Meanwhile, the som exchange rate remained virtually unchanged during the same period. Higher cash inflows contributed to the expansion of domestic demand, with retail trade growth reaching 17.8% in 2025,” the macroeconomic review states.
