Bishkek, Aug. 26, 2026. /Kabar/. The International Festival of Traditional Music "Kochmondor Sanaty" ("Tales of the Nomads") will be held at the Rukh Ordo Cultural Center named after Chingiz Aitmatov from September 2 to 5 as part of the 6th World Nomad Games. The WNG media headquarters reports.
According to the information, over the course of four days, guests can expect a rich cultural program dedicated to traditional music, storytelling, folk crafts, and the cultural heritage of various peoples.
September 2 is Dastan (storytelling) Day.
The program includes a theatrical prologue, a concert by traditional music performers "Atalar izi" ("Footprints of the Fathers"), a concert program called "Kochmon shany,"(Nomads voice) akyns' competition, and a storytelling competition. There will also be performances at Komuz-Pier, musical gatherings, and podcast recordings with festival participants.
September 3rd — Traditional Instrumental Music Day.
Visitors will be able to learn about the traditional crafts and arts of the "Nark Onor" (Original skills) school, participate in master classes, and interactive programs. The central stage will host the premiere of a series of short films, "Nomad Games," about ten traditional games of Kyrgyzstan, followed by a concert by traditional music performers in the evening. An instrumental performance competition will be held at the "Onor Ordosu" (Skills palace) amphitheater.
September 4th — Song Day (vocal and instrumental arts).
The day will feature the "Kochmön Uulu" (Nomads sons) concert program, folk crafts, master classes in jewelry making, saddle making, and kamchy (whip) weaving, as well as traditional games and interactive programs. An evening concert featuring traditional music performers will take place on the main stage.
September 5th marks the festival's closing.
The cultural program of the "Nark Onor" school will continue throughout the day in the Chingiz Aitmatov Hall: performances by storytellers, a national costume parade, jewelry and beadwork displays, and interactive programs. The festival will conclude with a closing ceremony, a gala concert featuring traditional music performers, and the Grand Prix award ceremony.
The festival will feature daily presentations of traditional art, jam sessions, photo zones, sound recording sessions, and podcasts featuring representatives from Kyrgyzstan and abroad at the Komuz-Piers, Treasures of Knowledge, and Muras Studio venues.
