Bishkek, Jan. 7, 2026. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov today, January 7, congratulated the people of Kyrgyzstan on Christmas.
In his congratulatory message the President said that this bright holiday symbolizes the triumph of eternal spiritual values – mercy, love for one's neighbor, compassion, and faith in goodness.
“For centuries, the Nativity of Christ has served as a source of moral renewal, strengthening people's desire for peace, harmony, and mutual respect.
The Orthodox community in the Kyrgyz Republic makes a significant contribution to the preservation of interfaith harmony, spiritual richness, and cultural diversity in our society. I sincerely appreciate your commitment to the ideals of mutual understanding, unity, and creativity for the sake of our country's common future,” he said wishing good health, prosperity, and joy.
According to data, the number of Orthodox Christians in Kyrgyzstan can be estimated at around 1.2 million or 15 % of the total population. The majority of Orthodox Christians are Russian.
