Bishkek, July 4, 2025 /Kabar/. President Sadyr Zhaparov today, July 4, as part of a working visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, spoke at the 17th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization in the city of Khankendi.

The theme of the summit was: "A New Vision for the Economic Cooperation Organization for a Reliable and Climate-Resilient Future."

In his speech, the President noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches particular importance to the activities of the Economic Cooperation Organization and reaffirms the need to further deepen economic cooperation between the participating countries.

The head of state outlined the inextricable link between economic development and climate change, emphasizing that these two factors directly affect each other.

In order to adapt to current climatic conditions, the president proposed to combine joint efforts to develop renewable energy sources, improve energy efficiency, and introduce intelligent infrastructure in agriculture and industry.

"Kyrgyzstan is ready for active cooperation in the fight against climate change, in ensuring food and energy security, as well as in preserving mountain ecosystems at both the regional and global levels.

As part of the work carried out in this direction, the republic is promoting the Declaration on Climate Change, Mountains and Glaciers. The creation of an international platform "Mountain Youth and Climate" has also been initiated. As part of the Five Years of Action for Mountain Development for 2023-2027, we plan to hold a number of events, including the Second Global Mountain Summit "Bishkek +25" in 2027," said Sadyr Japarov and called on the heads of delegations to take part in these events.

The President announced the approval of the National Development Program until 2030 in Kyrgyzstan, which outlines key priorities - industrialization, development of agriculture, tourism, "green" energy and turning the country into a regional hub.

To achieve these goals, Kyrgyzstan is implementing a number of strategic and economically sound initiatives.

He expressed confidence that the joint implementation of such projects will contribute to sustainable development, strengthening economic ties and improving the well-being of the peoples of the region.

As proposals, President Sadyr Zhaparov outlined the need to simplify border crossing procedures, unify tariffs, digitalize logistics, and create favorable conditions for landlocked countries.

In conclusion, he emphasized Kyrgyzstan's readiness for constructive dialogue and coordinated cooperation within the Economic Cooperation Organization. The President expressed hope that the initiatives voiced at the meeting will be implemented in the interests of common well-being.
