Bishkek, April 23, 2025. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov held talks with Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Cholpon-Ata as part of his working visit to Kyrgyzstan.
The presidential press service reported that, a welcoming ceremony and joint photo session took place first, after which the President of Kyrgyzstan and the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty moved to the negotiating hall.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, including trade and economic cooperation, cultural and humanitarian ties and regional initiatives.
Welcoming the distinguished guest, President Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized the importance of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's visit in strengthening the centuries-old friendship between the Kyrgyz and Turkmen peoples.
The head of state noted the confident positive dynamics in trade cooperation between the two countries.
Sadyr Zhaparov also noted the importance of implementing the project to create the Kyrgyz-Turkmen Development Fund, in accordance with Kyrgyzstan's existing experience in creating bilateral development funds with Russia, Hungary, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked the head of state for the warm welcome and expressed readiness for in-depth and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized the desire and readiness of the Turkmen side for active interaction in all key areas, including trade, gas, energy, transport, culture and education. In conclusion, President Sadyr Zhaparov expressed confidence that the talks will open up new prospects for the Kyrgyz-Turkmen partnership. In this context, he cited the words of the great Turkmen thinker Makhtumkuli Fragi: "Unity is the force that turns a dream into reality."
