Sadyr Zhaparov holds meeting with representatives of Malaysian business circles

Bishkek, June 25, 2025. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, today, June 25, as part of hisofficial visit to Malaysia, met with representatives of Malaysian business circles in Kuala Lumpur.

According to the press service of the head of state, the meeting was attended by representatives of more than 50 large Malaysian companies, as well as relevant ministries and departments.

At the beginning of the event, the head of state delivered a welcoming speech, talking about the investment attractiveness of Kyrgyzstan.

“The geographical and strategic position of our country is extremely advantageous: we are located at the intersection of trade and transport routes. Kyrgyzstan is rich in natural resources - from hydropower to rare earth metals.

In addition, we have free economic zones with attractive tax and customs preferences for investors. All these advantages make Kyrgyzstan a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs,” said President Sadyr Zhaparov.

He emphasized that in recent years the state has been actively working to comprehensively improve the investment climate. Over the past three years, the average growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) in the country was about 9%. The procedures for investors were simplified, legal guarantees were provided, and conditions for activity were created.

The president also briefly touched upon the country's economic achievements and invited Malaysian companies to invest in Kyrgyzstan. The head of state proposed to consider hydropower, the agro-industrial complex, tourism, education, healthcare, digitalization, as well as the extraction and processing of mineral raw materials as priority areas of cooperation.

In addition, he outlined Kyrgyzstan's potential in developing an export-oriented halal industry and tourism sector.

"Kyrgyzstan is a country of new opportunities, open to the whole world. I am confident that our cooperation with Malaysia will become an example of a successful partnership based on mutual respect, strong trust and the desire for sustainable development," Sadyr Zhaparov proudly emphasized.

After the president's speech, the Director of the National Investment Agency Farkhat Iminov made a presentation on the investment opportunities of the Kyrgyz Republic. Then, Director of Kyrgyz Export Urmat Takirov made a presentation on the country's export potential.

In turn, representatives of Malaysian business circles expressed their sincere gratitude to President Sadyr Zhaparov for the opportunity to hold a personal meeting and interest in cooperation in various areas.

They noted the importance of such a dialogue for strengthening business relations and further cooperation.

In addition, Chairman of the Kyrgyz-Malaysian Business Council Zulazman Zulkifli noted that this visit is the beginning of a new stage of cooperation.

At the end of the event, in the presence of President Sadyr Zhaparov, a number of documents were signed:

- Memorandum of cooperation between the State Institution "Center for the Development of Halal Industry" under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic and the company "AviaDinamika" to attract investments for the construction of a halal meat park in the Kyrgyz Republic;

- Memorandum of cooperation between Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC and the company "Public Gold Marketing Sdn. Bhd.";

- Agreement on the sale and purchase of refined gold in the form of measured ingots between Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC and Public Gold Marketing Sdn. Bhd.;

- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic and CitaGlobal Berhad;

- Memorandum of Cooperation and Organization of Possible Joint Events for the Development of the Halal Industry in the Kyrgyz Republic between the State Institution “Halal Industry Development Center” under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic and PLATINUM GREENHAVEN (M) SDN BHD;

- Memorandum of Understanding (Exchange of Letters of Intent) between Bishkek and Kuala Lumpur.
