Bishkek, Sept. 18, 2025 /Kabar/. The 2nd International Scientific and Practical Conference "Altai – the Ancestral Homeland of the Turks. Toward the History of the Origins of the Turkic Civilization" opened in Gorno-Altaisk, Russian Federation.
During the opening ceremony, Kyrgyz State Secretary Marat Imankulov read a message of greetings from President Sadyr Zhaparov to the conference participants and guests.
Altai is more than just a geographical space consisting of mountains, rivers, and steppes. It is a sacred cradle where the foundations of Turkic statehood, culture, language, traditions, and worldview were born. The spiritual codes that still unite millions of Turkic peoples around the world were formed here. The Kyrgyz people have been felt a special historical and spiritual connection with Altai. In the Middle Ages, the Altai lands were the native home of the Kyrgyz people. Our ancestors lived here for centuries, preserving and developing shared Turkic traditions. We are people of the same language family, and when we meet with the Altaians, we understand each other not only through words but also through our souls. The Kyrgyz Republic will always support initiatives aimed at strengthening Turkic unity and developing science, culture, and education. I am confident that the results of this conference will be an important step in strengthening the fraternal ties between our peoples and in the further development of the Turkic world, Kyrgyz Presidents says.
I wish all participants successful and fruitful work, inspiration, and new discoveries, the head of state noted in his address.
The Conference plans to create a common platform for organizing joint programs and events aimed at historical education, reflecting on issues related to the shared history of Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
