Bishkek, July 9, 2025. /Kabar/. Today, July 9, as part of a state visit to Tajikistan, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan Faizali Idizoda.
The prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation, developing inter-parliamentary dialogue, as well as expanding interaction in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed.
Faizali Idizoda welcomed the head of state and stressed the importance of deepening good-neighborly relations between the two countries. He wished Kyrgyzstan success during its chairmanship of the CSTO, noting the country's active role in regional processes. He also informed about the creation of a new parliamentary friendship group with the Kyrgyz Republic in the House of Representatives, which will contribute to the development of inter-parliamentary ties and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
President Sadyr ZhJaparov, in turn, noted that the development of friendly and good-neighborly relations with Tajikistan is one of the priorities of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy.
In the context of expanding inter-parliamentary relations, the head of state proposed considering the possibility of creating a bilateral inter-parliamentary mechanism with the participation of specialized committees and parliamentary friendship groups.
It was noted that such a format of interaction could give additional impetus to a constructive dialogue between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan at all levels. In addition, it is assumed that it will contribute to the development of cultural and diaspora ties between the peoples of the two states.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further deepen interstate and interparliamentary cooperation in the spirit of mutual trust and respect.
