Bishkek, July 8, 2025. /Kabar/. Today, July 8, as part of a state visit to Tajikistan, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov held talks with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in a tête-à-tête format.
The parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation on a wide range of issues, including the development of social infrastructure in certain areas and strengthening cooperation on multilateral platforms. Particular attention was paid to issues of interest to residents of border areas.
President Emomali Rahmon warmly welcomed President Sadyr Zhaparov and expressed satisfaction with the meeting. He noted that Kyrgyz-Tajik relations are on the rise, emphasizing the successful completion of the state border delimitation process and the active advancement of its demarcation work.
The leader of Tajikistan also noted the dynamic development of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries. He pointed out the importance of close cooperation in the security sphere and expressed his readiness to discuss with his Kyrgyz counterpart the current state and prospects of bilateral partnership, as well as current international and regional issues.
In turn, Sadyr Zhaparov expressed gratitude for the invitation to visit Tajikistan on a state visit and for the warm, cordial welcome from the fraternal Tajik people.
He especially noted that the completion of the delimitation process of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border was an important step strengthening security and stability not only in the two countries, but also in the region as a whole.
The head of state expressed confidence that the process of demarcation of the remaining sections will be completed in the near future in accordance with the agreed schedule.
Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that he counts on meaningful and constructive negotiations, during which the parties will discuss all current issues and determine priority areas of Kyrgyz-Tajik cooperation.
