Sadyr Zhaparov receives OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities

Bishkek, May 20, 2025 /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov held a meeting with OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Christophe Kamp.

An exchange of views took place on current issues of interethnic relations and interaction within the framework of the Organization's activities.

The head of state congratulated Christophe Kamp on his appointment to the high post, wishing him success in this responsible mission.

Sadyr Zhaparov noted that the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan consistently implements domestic policy with a social focus, continuing reforms in the fields of education, health care and security.

In this context, he expressed gratitude to the Office of the High Commissioner for its support in the implementation of the main directions of state policy in the field of interethnic relations, education and civic identity.

The president also focused on measures to strengthen interethnic harmony in Kyrgyzstan, as a multinational state, including the recently created National Agency for Religious Affairs and Interethnic Relations, as well as the Assembly of Peoples of Kyrgyzstan, which was given the status of a consultative and advisory body under the president.

Christophe Kamp noted the successful socio-economic development of Kyrgyzstan, interethnic peace and harmony in the country.

The High Commissioner also emphasized that the signed agreement on the state border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was a positive signal for regional stability and interstate cooperation. He also confirmed the readiness of the OSCE for active cooperation in ensuring interethnic harmony in the country.
