Bishkek, May 29, 2025 /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov received permanent representatives of a number of foreign states to the United Nations on Wednesday.
The head of state, welcoming the representatives of Angola, Belize, Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Malta, Mauritius, Mozambique, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Saint Lucia, Rwanda, Senegal, stressed the importance of strengthening the role of the UN as a key mechanism for international cooperation and a platform for collective response to global challenges. The president paid special attention to the problems of climate change, calling them a threat not only to the environment, but also to global security.
He also expressed readiness to strengthen partnership with UN member states. "We declare our readiness for close cooperation with your countries. We support efforts aimed at developing economic potential, ensuring food and energy security, as well as combating climate change," Sadyr Japarov noted.
During the meeting, the permanent representatives expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and highly appreciated Kyrgyzstan's contribution to the UN, noting that the country demonstrates an active position on key global issues, including countering common security threats, sustainable development and the protection of biodiversity.
In addition, the ambassadors of foreign states noted Kyrgyzstan's successes in the socio-economic development of the country, ensuring stability and good-neighborly relations in the Central Asian region.
They expressed their readiness to deepen cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic both at the multilateral level and in a bilateral format.
