SCO: 22d meeting of Council of Interbank Association held in Cholpon-Ata

Bishkek, July 3, 2026. /Kabar/. On July 2, 2026, the 22nd Meeting of the Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Interbank Consortium officially commenced in Cholpon-Ata. This year, Eldik Bank OJSC serves as the Chair of the SCO Interbank Consortium.

Delegations from the Consortium’s member banks representing India, China, Pakistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, and Tajikistan have arrived in Kyrgyzstan to participate in the meeting. Representatives of the SCO Secretariat are also taking part in the event.

During the meeting, participants will discuss key issues related to the further development of interbank cooperation, the expansion of partnership ties, the implementation of joint projects, and the promotion of sustainable finance principles within the framework of SCO.

The meeting is expected to conclude with the adoption of a number of documents aimed at strengthening cooperation among the financial institutions of SCO member states and further advancing multilateral collaboration.

Hosting the 22nd Meeting of the SCO Interbank Consortium Council under the chairmanship of Eldik Bank OJSC highlights the Kyrgyz Republic’s active role in fostering financial cooperation and promoting economic ties across the SCO region.

For reference: The Interbank Consortium of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (IBC SCO) was established on October 26, 2005. Its activities are aimed at facilitating the financing of joint investment projects, developing interbank cooperation, and strengthening economic interaction among the SCO member states.

Currently, the SCO IBC comprises the largest authorized financial institutions of the organization's member states: China Development Bank, State Development Corporation VEB.RF (Russian Federation), State Savings Bank of Tajikistan "Amonatbonk", National Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Uzbekistan, Development Bank of Kazakhstan, Habib Bank Limited from Pakistan, India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited, Belarusbank JSC and Eldik Bank JSC, Kyrgyzstan.

From October 26, 2025 to October 25, 2026, Eldik Bank will chair the SCO IBC. It coordinates the organization's activities, hosts international delegations, and promotes initiatives to expand cooperation, sustainable financing, and develop joint projects.
