Bishkek, July 20, 26. /Kabar/. The closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of the SCO Member States, which took place on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul from July 16 to 19, was held at the Rukh Ordo Cultural Center in Cholpon-Ata on July 19.
The film festival brought together film industry representatives from eight Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states—directors, actors, screenwriters, producers, and film critics. The event included competitive film screenings, professional discussions, and meetings dedicated to the development of international cooperation in the film industry.
Following the results of the competition program, the international jury selected the winners in the main categories:
Best Director – Lan Hongchun (China), "Dear You";
Best Screenplay – Azat Khakimov (Kazakhstan), "Autumn Breeze";
Best Cinematography – Sergey Astakhov (Russia), "Angels of Ladoga";
Best Editing – Olga Reshetnikova (Belarus), "One for Two";
Best Music – Kasym Muinzoda, "The Great Amir and Donna Anna";
Best Actor – Actor in "Fish on the Hook" (a joint production of Tajikistan and Iran);
Best Actress – Shabnam Ghorbani (Iran), in "The Gambler."
The main event of the ceremony was the announcement of the festival's Grand Prix winner. The highest award, a Golden Crane statuette, went to the Kyrgyz film "Kara Kyzyl Sary" (Black, Red, Yellow) directed by Aktan Arym Kubat and produced by Kyrgyzfilm.
