Cholpon-Ata, May 28, 2026. /Kabar/. On May 28, the 5th Forum of regional heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States and a meeting of heads of sister cities have begun in Cholpon-Ata.
The forum is chaired by First Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Choro Seitov.
The forum is an important international platform for strengthening interregional cooperation between the SCO member states, expanding trade, economic, investment and humanitarian ties, as well as developing partnerships between cities and regions.
The event is attended by official delegations from Kyrgyzstan, China, Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Belarus, India, Pakistan and the SCO Secretariat.
Within the framework of the forum, they will discuss issues of developing interregional cooperation, expanding investment and trade and economic ties, digitalization, tourism, sustainable development and strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between the SCO member states.
As a result of the event, a number of memorandums of understanding on cooperation between cities and regions of the SCO member states are expected to be signed.
