Second Kyrgyz-Malaysian ministerial consultations held in Malaysia

Bishkek, May 21, 2025 /Kabar/. The second round of bilateral consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and Malaysia was held in Malaysia on May 20, 2025.

The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic was led by Meder Abakirov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, while the Malaysian delegation was headed by Ahmad Rozian bin Abd. Ghani, Deputy Secretary General (Bilateral Affairs) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.
During the consultations held with the participation of relevant ministries and departments of Malaysia, as well as the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Malaysia, comprehensive discussions were conducted on the issues and prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. The parties also exchanged views on current issues on the international agenda and addressed matters concerning their collaboration within international and regional organizations.
Particular emphasis was placed on the expansion of bilateral cooperation in key areas, including trade, finance, investment, tourism, information and communication technologies, the development of collaboration in the halal industry, the promotion of green initiatives, and the strengthening of partnerships in higher education and healthcare. In this context, the participants underscored the importance of enhancing the legal framework for bilateral relations and accelerating of the finalization process of the draft bilateral documents currently under consideration by both parties.
At the conclusion of the consultations, both sides reaffirmed the importance of the continued comprehensive development of Kyrgyz-Malaysian cooperation and expressed their mutual commitment to maintaining the regular practice of bilateral consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs.
