Bishkek, March 2, 2026 /Kabar/. Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strengthened security measures for Kyrgyz citizens in the Middle East, press service of the department reports.

The consular tepartment held an emergency remote meeting on the situation in the Middle East, established direct contact with the embassies and consulates general of Kyrgyzstan in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Turkey, and listened to their information.

According to the information, the situation in the mentioned countries is stable and there are contacts with citizens.

According to the director of the consular department Seitek Jumakadyr uulu, a headquarters has been created under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is working around the clock.

"According to the information of the missions, the situation in Saudi Arabia is calm. The airport is open and regular flights are operating, some of which have been suspended. Our consulates are trying to stay in touch with all citizens. Citizens whose stay in hotels has expired are being re-accommodated in hotels with the help of embassies," he said.
