Strengthening interregional cooperation, attracting investment to Central Asia discussed in London

Bishkek, March 3, 2026. /Kabar/. From February 24 to 27, 2026, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Mederbek Tumanov, as part of the official delegation, participated in a series of events in London, UK, held as part of the "Central Asia – UK" format.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, on February 25, the Deputy Minister participated in a meeting between Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev and EBRD Vice President Matteo Patrone at the headquarters of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

During the meeting, they discussed the implementation of existing projects and prospects for expanding cooperation in priority areas of socioeconomic development in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Tumanov also participated in meetings in the Central Asia-UK format, including a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Central Asian countries and the United Kingdom, as well as a bilateral meeting between the Foreign Secretary and Yvette Cooper, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development of the United Kingdom.

The events discussed strengthening interregional cooperation, expanding trade and economic ties, sustainable development, energy, and attracting investment to Central Asian countries.

Participation in the Central Asia-UK events confirmed the parties' interest in further developing political and economic dialogue, as well as expanding practical interaction in key areas of cooperation.
