Talas harvests almost 71,000 tons of beans in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Nov. 4, 2025 /Kabar/. This year, the bean harvest in Talas oblast amounted to 70,800 tons, according to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the ministry, in order to support farmers and stabilize bean prices, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated 100 million soms to Kyrgyz Agroholding OJSC for the purchase of beans. The beans were purchased at a price of 95 soms per kilogram to support farmers. By comparison, other buyers are accepting beans at 92 soms per kilogram. This measure was aimed at supporting agricultural producers in Talas oblast, stabilizing prices on the domestic market, and promoting the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.

In 2023, the bean sown area was 53,600 hectares, with total harvest of 72,300 tons.

In 2024, beans were sown on an area of ​​over 53,200 hectares, with total harvest of 82,500 tons. The average yield was 18.4 centners per hectare.

In 2025, the bean sown area exceeded 55,800 hectares, with total harvest of 84,200 tons, and an average yield of 15.7 centners per hectare.

Therefore, it is not true over 100,000 tons of beans remain unsold and that the price per kilogram does not exceed 60 soms.

Currently, kind of beans are sold in the Talas region at the following prices:

  • Skorospelka - 155-160 soms,
  • Lopatka - 95 soms,
  • Tomato - 92 soms.
