Training center for Alpha opens in Jalal-Abad region

Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2025. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov on October 27, during the working trip to Jalal-Abad region, participated in the opening ceremony of the training center for the "Alpha" unit of the State Committee for National Security.

In his speech, the head of state recalled that a specialized service for combating terrorism was formed in Kyrgyzstan on October 27, 1992. Since then, the "Alpha" group of the national security agencies has continuously performed the important tasks assigned to it.

In August-November 1999, the "Alpha" special forces unit carried out tasks to eliminate international bandit groups that invaded the territory of the Batken region, to free hostages, and to ensure the safety of servicemen. The fighters actively participated in the search and destruction of bandit groups in mountainous areas," the president noted. He emphasized that the unit has extensive experience in combating international terrorism and organized crime, conducting operations to neutralize extremists, free hostages, and detain leaders of drug syndicates and terrorist organizations. The head of state announced that at the beginning of this year, at the initiative of the leadership of the State Committee for National Security, the construction of a training center for the special forces unit began.

"To strengthen the personnel potential of the service, modern technologies and the latest technical means are being purchased. The center will also be able to provide training and exercises to improve the combat readiness of law enforcement agencies and civil defense units of the Jalal-Abad region," Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized.

During the event, the head of state visited center with the conditions created to improve the combat readiness of the special forces unit and inspected the building of the training center.

The president attended tactical exercises during which the "Alpha" fighters demonstrated their skills in neutralizing simulated terrorists and freeing hostages. In addition, Sadyr Zhaparov visited the shooting range and participated in a demonstration of practical exercises using FPV drones, noting the high level of training and modern technical equipment of the unit.
