Bishkek, May 28, 2026 /Kabar/. Turkish Cinema Days will be held in Bishkek from June 3 to 7. The Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy reports.
For ten years, this project has served as a cultural and creative bridge between Turkiye and Kyrgyzstan, introducing Kyrgyz audiences to the best examples of Turkish cinema. The festival aims to strengthen friendship and cultural cooperation between the two countries through the unifying power of cinema.
During the "Turkish Cinema Days," all film screenings over the five days will be free to viewers. The program also includes meetings at universities, creative discussions with renowned directors and producers, cultural tours, and professional events aimed at developing international cooperation in the film industry.
The festival's grand opening will take place on June 3 at the Ala-Too Cinema in Bishkek. Birol Güven, Director of the General Directorate of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkiye, will attend the opening ceremony. The film "Mutluyuz Mu" will be screened on the opening day.
The festival will also feature meeting with "Mutluyuz Mu" star Ibrahim Büyücak, producer Hasan Koray Şahin, and screenwriter-director Murad Emre Kaman. Actress Deniz Barut and director Yuksel Aksuu of the film "Bak Postacı Geliyor" are also expected to participate.
The event is organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkiye, the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyz department of cinematography, the Embassy of Turkiye in Bishkek, and Zhergiliktүү Pikir Association.
