Bishkek, July 11, 2025. /Kabar/. The Kyrgyz Republic and UNIDO signed the Programme for Country Partnership (PCP) on 8 July 2025, at the headquarters of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna.
The PCP represents a milestone document that will guide enhanced cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic over the next five years. The PCP with the Kyrgyz Republic is aligned with the recently approved National Development Programme of Kyrgyzstan until 2030 and corresponds to the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework and its upcoming new implementation cycle.
Led by the Сabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic the PCP provides a strategic framework for the coordinated delivery of UNIDO’s services and fosters multi-stakeholder partnerships aimed at promoting sustainable industrial and economic development in the country, and in the longer term, in the region. It will contribute to a diversified, competitive, inclusive, and sustainable transformation of Kyrgyzstan’s economy.
To achieve the ambitious goals set out in the signed framework, UNIDO and the Сabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic are developing and piloting flagship initiatives in key sectors, including fisheries and aquaculture, agri-food industry, digital development, smart cities, and renewable energy.
On the eve of the PCP signing ceremony held in Vienna, the Kyrgyz Republic called on international partners to support the implementation of the Programme for Country Partnership and to contribute jointly to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
