The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Uzbekistan Aurélia Bouchez, UzA reported.
The meeting was also attended by the Co-Chairman of the Off Avignon Festival Harold David.
The current state of cultural relations between Uzbekistan and France, as well as organizational issues related to the holding of the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan in France in 2025 and the Uzbekistan representatives’ participation in the Off Avignon 2025 Festival, were discussed at the meeting.
This festival originated in 1966 as a public program organized as part of the famous Avignon Festival, and it is currently one of the largest performing arts festivals in the world. Live performance is a priority in this creative project.
An agreement has been reached on the participation of the Uzbek Young Spectator Theater in the Avignon International Theater Festival in 2025. Uzbekistan will participate in this festival as an honorary guest in 2026.
