Bishkek, Feb. 17, 2026. /Kabar/. The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry reported positive dynamics in the development of viticulture in Kyrgyzstan.
By the end of 2025, the total vineyard area amounted to 2,870 hectares, an increase of 225 hectares, or 8.5%, compared to 2024. The gross harvest reached 5,990.1 tons, an increase of 1% compared to the previous year. The average yield was 20.5% per hectare.
To support the industry, grape seedlings imported from Serbia underwent quarantine phytosanitary inspection from January to May 2025 and were selected based on virus-free and industrial varieties.
Furthermore, initiatives to develop viticulture are being implemented in the Leilek district of Batken region. In the Zhany-Zher rural district, cooperatives are growing seedlings of the Avatar and Kishmish varieties. A new nursery specializing in the production of Avatar, Monicur Singer, and Kishmish varieties is also being established.
The Agroportal is also operating to develop digital services in the agricultural sector. The platform allows farmers to access government services online and stay up-to-date with industry news and information. Services currently available include tariff quotas, breeding farm registration, fishing permits, biological control, and agrochemical services.
The agroportal aims to digitalize agriculture and create a unified information space for all industry participants.
