Bishkek, May 20, 2026 /Kabar/. The Youth Center and the AiymHUB Women's support and development center opened in Batken with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and financial support from the Russian Federation. UNDP reports.
The Youth Center was created to develop skills, support entrepreneurial initiatives, and provide a coworking space for over 12,000 young people aged 15 to 35 living in Batken and studying at local educational institutions.
The center is equipped for training, conferences, and digital learning. With support from the Russian Federation through UNDP, over $51,000 was allocated for its equipment, and the Batken City Hall allocated 6 million soms for a major renovation of the building. Youth Council under the City Hall was also established with the participation of local authorities and UNDP, which will participate in the center's development.
At the same time, the AiymHUB Center was opened, providing platform for psychological and legal support for women, as well as for preventing domestic violence and strengthening social cohesion. $2,500 was allocated for its equipment with the support of the Russian Federation.
The project was implemented by UNDP jointly with the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration as part of a program to strengthen peace and social cohesion.
