Bishkek, March 30, 2026 /Kabar/. For the first time in Kyrgyzstan's history, the national currency, the som, is being printed domestically.
"Previously, we had to order the printing of our national currency from a foreign country and pay for it. Now everything has changed: we have reached a level where we can print currency for other countries ourselves upon request. We have also received an international certificate confirming our compliance with all necessary standards and requirements for banknote production. Furthermore, we produce high-quality national documents: passports, ID cards, driver's licenses, vehicle registration certificates, and other important documents.
Furthermore, we are ready to print not only currency but also various government documents for other countries. We are currently accepting orders from several countries. Thanks to this certificate, our product security is at the highest level. In other words, it is impossible to counterfeit such documents. At the same time, our prices remain affordable," the head of state says.
