Zhashtyk arena opens in Bishkek

Bishkek, Nov. 11, 2025 /Kabar/. On November 10, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov attended the opening ceremony of sports arena after major renovation.

During the event, the head of state proposed giving the facility a new symbolic name – "Zhashtyk." The arena was previously named after Dolon Omurzakov. The sports complex has a capacity of 5,000 spectators and is located in the Pervomaysky District of Bishkek. The total floor area of ​​the building is 15,342 square meters. It is a three-story structure with a basement.

The basement level includes parking, utility rooms, an electrical control room, and heating units. The first floor houses a training hall, locker rooms, showers, a medical center, and a conference room. The second floor houses a food court, storage, sanitary, and utility rooms, as well as spectator stands. The third floor includes a VIP lounge and additional spectator seating.

The sports arena, built in accordance with international standards, is a multifunctional facility. It can host not only sporting competitions but also international tournaments, concerts, and cultural events.

Sadyr Zhaparov toured the complex's infrastructure, inspected the locker rooms and training facilities, and participated in a concert program dedicated to the national youth forum "Kiyalymdagy Kyrgyzstan." During the forum, youth representatives, their leaders, young entrepreneurs, renowned athletes, and graduates of leading global universities put forward initiatives, shared their ideas, and visions for the country's future. They expressed their willingness to actively participate in the development of society, the implementation of innovations, and the strengthening of statehood.

At the end of the event, the President reviewed an investment project for the construction of modern tennis courts, designed to promote the development of sports infrastructure and the popularization of tennis in the country.
