Bishkek, Jan. 29, 2026. /Kabar/. In 2026, hydroelectric units No. 2 and No. 1 will be reconstructed in parallel at Uch-Kurgan HPP, Ministry of Energy reports.
Currently, preparatory and engineering and technical work has begun on two hydroelectric units. It is planned to begin the reconstruction of hydroelectric unit No. 2 on February 1, and hydroelectric unit No. 1 on March 1.
The work is being carried out by the general contractor - the Chinese company CNEEC (China National Electric Engineering Co. Ltd.).
As noted, all work will be carried out in accordance with the approved calendar schedule, strictly observing technical requirements and industrial safety standards.
Parallel reconstruction of hydroelectric units will ensure phased increase in the installed capacity of the plant. Specifically, as a result of the reconstruction by 2025, the capacity of the Uch-Kurgan HPP increased by 18 MW, and by 2026, the total increase in installed capacity will be 36 MW.
