Bishkek, July 24, 2026. /Kabar/. The 40-day national march "Caravan of Unity" has begun in Batken oblast, which is taking place in preparation for the 6th World Nomad Games.
The project's first event was a ceremony to draw water from the sacred Shoovaz spring, located in a pasture in the Too region of the Leilek district. The traditional ritual was accompanied by elements of Kyrgyz national customs and nomadic culture.
During the ceremony, water from the Shoovaz spring was ceremoniously handed over to ten horsemen selected from the Leilek district. On July 25, they will set off from Razzakov city on a 40-day national journey through the country's regions.
Mamyrzhan Rakhimov, Batken region governor, attended the event. He congratulated residents on the launch of the project and wished the participants a safe journey.
According to him, water from sacred springs should bring well-being to the people, peace to the land, and prosperity to the country.
The main goal of the "Caravan of Unity" project is to strengthen the unity of the Kyrgyz people and promote their history, the values of nomadic civilization, national traditions, and cultural heritage.
A unique feature of the project is that water from sacred springs in 40 districts of Kyrgyzstan will be collected in separate traditional vessels—koekor. Ten riders from each district will participate in the procession, for a total of 400 participants, who will carry the water throughout the country.
At the end of the route, the water from all the springs will be combined in a single vessel in Bishkek and will be part of the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games.
Previously, the symbolic projects of the World Nomad Games included the "1000 Komuz Players" performance at the 2nd Games and the "Ethnobazaar" at the 3rd Games. This year, the "Caravan of Unity" has been chosen as the main symbolic project.
The caravan will travel through all regions of the country, uniting 40 districts into a single spiritual route. The national procession will last until September 1, 2026, and will conclude with the opening ceremony of the VI World Nomad Games.
