Bishkek, March 2, 2026. /Kabar/. Currently, about 6 thousand Kyrgyz pilgrims are performing the pilgrimage (minor pilgrimage) in Mecca, Deputy Mufti of Kyrgyzstan, Zholdoshbek Abdyldaev told Kabar.
According to him, information on citizens is being obtained through 46 registered companies and their representatives.
"The situation in Mecca is currently calm. Air flights are suspended due to the situation in the Middle East. Some countries are evacuating their citizens through negotiations. All flights returning via Dubai are currently suspended. When concluding agreements with neighboring countries, they provided for special insurance deposits to evacuate citizens in case of an emergency. Since this year we are organizing this for the first time, we obliged the companies themselves to bring citizens back in the agreement," Abdyldaev explained.
He also said that due to the current situation, those planning to go on a minor pilgrimage were advised to postpone their pilgrimage to another time.
"We advised our citizens there not to panic, to maintain peace, to listen to what the companies and the leaders of the pilgrimage said and to act according to their instructions," the deputy mufti emphasized.
