In total, 8 small hydroelectric power plants were commissioned in Kyrgyzstan in 2024, and the total volume of electricity generated by them amounted to 48.84 megawatts. This became known at the board of energy companies and institutions under the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic on the results of 2024.
According to data of the ministry, a solar power plant with a capacity of 400 megawatts, a wind power plant with a capacity of 100 megawatts were also built, and a capsule of a small hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 25 megawatts was laid on the Papan reservoir.
In addition, work is actively underway to build the Orto-Tokoy reservoir and the small hydropower plant "Kara-Kul". In parallel with this, work is underway to reconstruct the Lebedinskaya hydroelectric power plant.
