Bishkek, June 8, 2026 /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev attended the opening ceremony of the 4th Bishkek International Film Festival, the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers reported.

Delivering a welcoming speech on behalf of the Kyrgyz President and the entire Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev noted that Kyrgyzstan is consistently implementing state policy aimed at developing cinematography, supporting creative industries, and fostering a modern cultural environment.

"In recent years, cinema has received systematic attention. State support for cinema has significantly increased based on the decree 'On measures to develop the national film industry.' Four years ago, 80 million soms were allocated to this sector; in 2026, 928 million soms will be allocated, or more than 10 times more. The development of cinematography is facilitated by the national program 'Uluttuq dem – duynoluk biyiktik', approved by presidential decree, which defines its strategic direction," he said.

Kasymaliev also noted with satisfaction that Kyrgyz cinema has a strong professional school. In the 1960s and 1970s, Kyrgyz cinematography captivated many nations and was hailed as a "Kyrgyz miracle." He stated that the current generation possesses great potential to worthily continue the glorious path of the older generation.

"The state will continue to create opportunities for Kyrgyz cinema to confidently develop. I believe that the Bishkek International Film Festival will improve year after year and its international prestige grows," said Adylbek Kasymaliev.

The 4th Bishkek International Film Festival will be held from June 7 to 12. This year's Bishkek Film Festival program includes world and international premieres, screenings of current foreign and Central Asian films, and events for the exchange of experience between directors and screenwriters.
