Bishkek, April 16, 2026 /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev met with Charles Cormier, World Bank Regional Director for Infrastructure in the Europe and Central Asia region, as part of the IMF-World Bank Group Spring Meetings in Washington on Wednesday.
The central topic of the talks was the implementation of the strategic Kambarata-1 Hydro Power Plant (HPP), which is crucial for the energy sustainability of the entire Central Asian region.
During the meeting, Adylbek Kasymaliev noted that active consultations are currently underway to agree on the text of the Intergovernmental Agreement between Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
At the end of the meeting, a commitment was reaffirmed to further coordinate efforts to successfully advance the project and bring it to the investment stage in a timely manner.
