Bishkek, Sept. 16, 2026 /Kabar/. Daniyar Amangeldiev, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, held a meeting with analysts from the international rating agency Moody’s, Anushka Shah and Marc-Antoine Galy.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current macroeconomic situation, the results of ongoing reforms, the state of public finances, debt sustainability, and prospects for the further development of Kyrgyzstan's economy.
Daniyar Amangeldiev noted that the country's economy has demonstrated steady positive momentum in recent years. The average annual economic growth rate over the past four years stood at 10.2%, with GDP per capita rising from US$1,230 in 2020 to US$3,080 in 2025. By the end of 2025, the country’s international reserves had exceeded US$10 billion for the first time, and real GDP growth reached 11% in the first eight months of 2026.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening the fiscal base, managing public debt, and expanding sources of financing.
The first deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers emphasized the importance of having the results achieved accurately reflected in international credit ratings.
"For us, a rating upgrade is an objective reflection of the changes that have taken place in the country and serves as an additional signal to the international community regarding the increased resilience and investment attractiveness of the Kyrgyz Republic," noted Daniyar Amangeldiev.
During their visit, Moody’s analysts will also meet with representatives of government bodies and agencies to gain a more detailed understanding of the current state and prospects of specific economic sectors.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their interest in continuing constructive and substantive cooperation.
