The Third Ministerial Meeting of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities of the Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has commenced in Baku, AZERTAC reports.

Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev read out President Ilham Aliyev’s address to the participants.

The event has brought together more than 250 participants, including representatives of 48 of the OIC’s 57 member states. Participants include heads of 30 government agencies, ambassadors, senior representatives of five international and regional organizations, and representatives of three observer states.

To prepare for the meeting, a Local Organizing Committee was established pursuant to a relevant order issued by the Prosecutor General’s Office. Its key responsibilities include ensuring the successful organization of the meeting, promoting anti-corruption cooperation among OIC member states, and sharing Azerbaijan’s experience with international partners.

Delegations from Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Qatar, the Kyrgyz Republic, Libya, Lebanon, Sudan, Jordan and other countries commended the meeting and the progress made on draft resolutions for consideration at the ministerial meeting.

Discussions focused on improving corruption measurement methods, sharing best practices and strengthening international cooperation. Participating states reached a consensus on several issues concerning the draft resolutions.
