Bishkek, May 28, 2026 /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev visited the Balykchy transshipment yard of Kumtor Gold Company, where he inspected the progress of the facility's modernization.
During the visit, the chairman was briefed on the current state of the yard, the infrastructure improvements being implemented, and measures aimed at increasing the efficiency of logistics and production processes.
The modernization of the transshipment yard will improve cargo storage and transportation conditions, enhance the level of technical equipment, and optimize operational processes, which will have an overall positive impact on the company's operations.
As part of the yard's modernization, new fuel storage tanks were installed, increasing their capacity from 12,400 cubic meters to over 32,000 cubic meters. m, and landscaping of the 1.2-hectare base was completed.
The chairman also visited the branch of Kyrgyzkomur OJSC in Balykchy. This branch receives, stores, and ships coal from Kara-Keche open-pit mine for the Bishkek Thermal Power Plant and the public, serving as key logistics link during the heating season.
As noted, the warehouse has daily capacity of up to 40,000 tons of coal, a throughput of up to 150 trucks (up to 4,000 tons), and a simultaneous loading of up to 100 railcars. Video surveillance system has been installed on the premises.
