Bishkek, Astana to strengthen cooperation in housing and utilities

Bishkek, Feb. 9, 2026 /Kabar/. On February 6, Kyrgyz Ambassador to Kazakhstan Kudaibergen Bazarbayev met with Astana Mayor Zhenis Kassymbek.

According to the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting focused on the implementation of previously reached agreements and prospects for further development of cooperation between the sister cities of Bishkek and Astana.

The parties paid special attention to the construction of a new building for the Kyrgyz Embassy in Astana, as well as the expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties, including hosting touring events and developing direct contacts between relevant institutions of the two countries.

In addition, they exchanged views on trade, economic, scientific, and technical cooperation, as well as the organization of mutual visits between Bishkek and Astana to share experiences in housing and utilities, public services, digitalization, and land use.

It was noted that the meeting confirmed mutual interest in further deepening interregional dialogue and expanding practical cooperation.
