Bishkek, April 27, 2026. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev met with Admiral Dong Jun, Minister of Defense and member of the State Council of China.
During the meeting, they noted the high dynamics of Kyrgyz-Chinese bilateral cooperation, thanks to the agreements reached between Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Chairman Adylbek Kasymaliev highlighted that over the past five years, Kyrgyzstan has confidently embarked on a path of economic development. He added that Chinese investment in the country's economy also plays a significant role in achieving such high indicators.
"Kyrgyzstan attaches particular importance to developing cooperation with China. We also actively cooperate within international organizations, primarily the UN, the SCO, the China-Central Asia cooperation format, and others. We strive to further deepen the Kyrgyz-Chinese strategic partnership in trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural, humanitarian, security, and defense spheres," said Chairman Adylbek Kasymaliev.
In turn, Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun conveyed greetings from Premier Li Qiang of the State Council and noted China's interest in comprehensive cooperation with Kyrgyzstan, including in the military sphere. He also emphasized the importance of continuing the defense and security partnership.
It should be noted that Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun arrived in Kyrgyzstan to participate in the meeting of defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states, which will be held in Bishkek. Kyrgyzstan holds the rotating presidency of the organization this year.
