Bishkek, May 20, 2026 /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev held a meeting of the National Council for Tourism Development in the Kyrgyz Republic.
At the beginning of his speech, the chairman noted that the gross domestic product (GDP) for January-April 2026 amounted to 602.8 billion soms, an increase of 12.4% compared to the same period in 2025. He emphasized that the service sector accounts for the largest share of this figure.
"Tourism, like the hotel and catering industries, is part of the service sector. We need to maintain this momentum, and the contribution of all sectors, including tourism, is essential," said Adylbek Kasymaliev, adding that over the past five years, the government has been making comprehensive efforts to develop and implement strategies and tactics for the development of this sector.
He stated that Kyrgyzstan is becoming a destination suitable for vacations in all four seasons.
Four key issues were discussed at the National Council meeting, including the tourism industry's performance for 2025 and the development of the national digital platform "Tunduk Travel."
Concluding the meeting, Adylbek Kasymaliev emphasized that the state faces large-scale and ambitious goals to attract more tourists and issued a number of specific instructions to the relevant government agencies.
