Bishkek, Oct. 22, 2026. /Kabar/. The 6th “China – Central Asia” Think Tank Forum, themed “High-Quality Development and Joint Modernization,” is taking place in Bishkek.

Nearly 100 representatives from China and Central Asian countries are gathered to discuss issues such as the development of regional cooperation, economic integration, digitalization, and the development of human capital. The forum was organized by the Institute of Strategic National Initiatives under the President and the Institute of Russian, Eastern European and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Representatives from analytical and research centers in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan are also participating in the event.

The objective of the event is to strengthen sustainable cooperation among think tanks, facilitate the exchange of experience, and develop practical recommendations on pressing issues related to regional development.

The forum’s agenda covers four key areas: high-quality development and joint modernization; sustainable regional integration and the circular economy; innovation and artificial intelligence; as well as human capital development and humanitarian cooperation.

Participants will discuss the development of transport and logistics corridors, the expansion of industrial cooperation, the removal of trade barriers, the digitalization of public administration, the application of artificial intelligence, and collaboration in the fields of education and healthcare.

The forum is being held as part of an ongoing expert dialogue between think tanks from China and Central Asia, which has been active since 2021. This format was included among the outcomes of the first summit between China and the Central Asian states in 2023.

The forum is expected to result in the identification of promising areas for expert cooperation, the expansion of professional ties, and the preparation of recommendations aimed at further developing cooperation between China and the countries of Central Asia.
