CIS countries to expand cooperation in culture, science, and digital projects

Bishkek, June 12, 2026 /Kabar/. On June 10, the final plenary session of the 19th Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was held in Bishkek. The final resolution was adopted.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, the representatives of the scientific and cultural community, government agencies, international organizations, media outlets, and public and creative associations from CIS countries participated in the forum, which took place June 9–10 in the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

The ministry noted that the forum's program included a plenary session dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the CIS and the upcoming 100th anniversary of birth of Chingiz Aitmatov, as well as thematic discussion panels on the digitalization of culture, cooperation in science and education, and the role of Chingiz Aitmatov's work in the contemporary literary process of the Commonwealth countries.

Following the discussions, the participants adopted a resolution reaffirming the importance of further strengthening humanitarian cooperation within the CIS, developing joint cultural, educational, and scientific projects, expanding intercultural dialogue, and integrating modern digital technologies into the humanitarian sphere.

The resolution's key recommendations include developing partnerships between cultural institutions in the CIS countries, creating new joint projects in theater, cinema, libraries, museums, and archival services, and expanding the use of digital platforms for online exhibitions, virtual tours, and broadcasts of cultural events.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in education and science, adapting national educational systems to modern challenges associated with digitalization and the use of artificial intelligence technologies, and developing interdisciplinary approaches within the framework of the Year of Healthcare declared in the CIS.

In conclusion, the participants expressed their sincere gratitude to Kyrgyzstan for its warm hospitality, the high level of organization of the forum, and the event's rich cultural and business program.
