Bishkek, Oct. 13, 2026 /Kabar/. Comprehensive hydrochemical monitoring is being conducted at Issyk-Kul Lake to assess water quality and the ecological condition of the water body. Ministry of Emergency Situations reports.

The monitoring is carried out annually by the Hydrometeorological Service under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzhydromet). Studies are conducted twice a year, before the start and after the conclusion of the tourist season.

As part of the monitoring process, specialists collect water samples from 17 designated control points on the lake. In 2026, a total of 70 water samples were collected.

Fieldwork takes place over several days aboard the research vessel *Möltür*. Certain water parameters are determined directly on the vessel and in a mobile hydrochemical laboratory. For additional analyses, samples are transported to a laboratory in Bishkek.

Comprehensive hydrochemical monitoring makes it possible to determine the physicochemical composition of the water and key quality indicators, as well as to systematically track changes in the lake's condition.

The data obtained are crucial for assessing the ecological state of Issyk-Kul and preserving its natural resources.
