Bishkek, November 4, 2026. /Kabar/. A small hydropower plant (HPP) named "Jyrgalan," with a capacity of 7.8 MW, is set to be commissioned soon in the Issyk-Kul region. The facility is designed to supply electricity to the "Ala-Too Resort" cluster. Emilbek Orozbaev, Director of Green Energy Fund reports as part of the "Open Cabinet" project.
According to Orozbaev, this HPP is one of the first projects supported by the Fund. Currently, the construction of small hydropower plants, as well as solar and wind power stations, ranks among the country's top priorities.
"Our economy is growing. At least 100 industrial facilities are commissioned in the country every year, each requiring a certain amount of electricity. Today, it is impossible to imagine our lives without electricity," he stated.
Emilbek Orozbaev also noted that major renovations are underway at the Fund’s headquarters, with completion scheduled before the New Year. Additionally, the installation of solar panels on the building's roof is currently being considered.
As part of the "Open Cabinet: Zone of Responsibility" media project, the activities of the state institution "Green Energy Fund", which operates under the Cabinet of Ministers were showcased.
